सन 1977 में SSC की स्थापना की गयी थी। SSC का फुल फॉर्म है - Staff Selection Commission (कर्मचारी चयन आयोग). SSC का काम है, Central Government Ministries and Other Departments में Group B and C के लिए कर्मचारियों का चयन करना।

Scheme of Examination :- 

CGL :- 

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers.

1. Tier -I - Computer Based Examination
2. Tier -II - Computer Based Examination
3. Tier -III - Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
4. Tier-IV - Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test

CHSL :- 

The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper
(Tier-II) and Typing Test/ Skill Test (Tier-III).

STENO 'C'&'D' :- 

Computer Based Examination

1. General Intelligence
2. General Awareness
3. English Language and Comprehension

JE :-

The examination will consist of two papers. Paper-I is computer Based Examination and Paper-II is
Conventional type.

CAPF :-

The examination will consist of two papers. Paper-I and Paper-II Computer Based Examination.

MTS(NT) :- 

The written examination will consist of (Paper-I) objective type paper and (Paper-II).

JHT :-

The examination will consist of two papers. Paper-I is Computer Based Examination and paper-II is conventional type.
